All the tools I have today to manage my anxiety, cPTSD, depression came from Stacy, I would give more stars if I could

Stacy was a life-changing therapist for me. This might sound like an exaggeration but it is not. I have a tattoo of the mantra Stacy and I developed together on my forearm because it does wonders in calming me down when I am about to enter an anxiety crisis.

The following is an inexhaustive list of why I think Stacy was the right therapist for me:
1. Collaborate, not tell / instruct
Stacy worked with me in identifying the root cause of presentations of my mental health illness. I have had therapists in the past who told me to just stop thinking like that, or that such thought was because of my illness. Stacy was the only one who asked meaningful questions to help me explore the root of my illness. For someone who needs to understand before I can accept, her approach did wonders for me

2. Extensive experience in schema therapy
With the help of Stacy, I know a lot of my irrational thoughts/spurs of feelings come from my childhood. The fact is the unrelenting standards coming from a traditional Asian education have forced me into thinking I have to be the best to be valid. This resulted in me having to go on medical leave for 3 months because I couldn't cope with the stress I was causing myself. Stacy tackled this schema with expert knowledge, allowing me to resolve the roots of these beliefs. The therapy was so impactful that I've cried tears of relief on multiple occasions because I can finally be at peace with who I am and what got me here.

3. Top-notch teaching abilities
A large part of recovering/ coping with my mental health is the tools I have to process overwhelming feelings and thoughts when they arise. Stacy was incredible in teaching me frameworks from cognitive behaviour therapy which has allowed me to re-enter the workforce after my medical leave. Whenever I have an irrational thought resulting in me feeling overwhelmed, I use check-the-facts to ground myself. Whenever I am feeling too much to articulate myself properly, I use DEAR-MAN to express myself effectively. These tools, not exhaustive at all, have helped me tremendously in times of crisis, even better, preventing crisis altogether.

4. Empathy
As a medical practitioner, I understand why professionals might be numb to certain presentations due to their prolonged exposure to it. Stacy, however, is the most empathetic therapist I had. I come from a traditional Eastern Asian family and certain values are hard to explain but have caused turmoil in my mind. Stacy, coming from a different culture, gave it her all to understand what certain values mean and how they have impacted me. She can see the pain these intangible, vague cultural norms have brought me and resolve them with me. This is what truly sets Stacy apart in my opinion.

The list can go on and on but I am sure it is clear that I hold Stacy in the highest regard. My mental health episode was THE hardest thing I had to go through and more than once I thought I wasn't going to make it. Stacy's guidance and the confidence she gave me got me through it among other important support groups (family and friends). I highly recommend Stacy despite my demons telling me to gate-keep her.

Inner Healing and Serenity Psychotherapy

I’ve been seeing Stacey since the spring/early summer of last year, and I can honestly say she’s been a game-changer in my mental health journey. From the very first session, she made me feel comfortable, heard, and understood—something I hadn't fully experienced before with other therapists. Stacey’s empathy is unmatched, and she has a unique ability to make even the toughest topics feel manageable, guiding me through them with patience and wisdom.

What I appreciate most is her ability to balance professionalism with warmth. She’s always fully present during our sessions, asking insightful questions that help me gain clarity and perspective. Stacey creates a safe and non-judgmental space, and her open-mindedness allows me to talk freely about anything on my mind, which has been incredibly empowering.

In addition to her empathetic nature, Stacey offers practical tools and strategies that I can apply outside of therapy, helping me build resilience and cope with stress in healthy ways. Her thoughtful approach has not only helped me navigate some tough times but has also contributed to my personal growth.

It’s rare to find a therapist who combines deep understanding, kindness, and expertise so effortlessly. Stacey has made a lasting positive impact on my life, and I’m truly grateful to have her as my therapist. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate, skilled, and supportive guide on their mental health journey
